There are tons of free MMORPG'S and yeah most are free...i see many ppl suggesting runescape...its ok but graphics are god awful to look at..but yeah the game overall is pretty sweet esp for a java game. There are games like 2 moons, cabel and silkroad that are free to download and play and there all brill grapihcs and have alot of people playing :) hope this helps cya
wurmonline.com is a fairly good game from what im told its kind of like runescape but a hell of alot better, it does have pvp in it on almost all servers but its a really good game ive been playing for years. it does how ever still lack the player base so be prepared for lots of lonly day. -Flinter

runescape.com you need to subscribe to members for more activities, but playing for free you have no limitations as for how long you can play.
toontown online is a game for all ages, its 3D, you do have to download the game but only takes a few minutes depending on how fast your computer is. You also have to buy a subscription if you want to play and access more; or you can purchase game cards. you can buy doodles (pets) create a kart and go racing, battle, etc.
wonderland online is also a good mmorpg, but doesn't have as good of graphics as toontown or smallwords.com but is still fun to play.My friends and I are looking for an MMORPG?
dependin on what you like runescape is a fairly good game with all around good gameplay, better to play with friends. there is this other game i got called cabal onine. it has better graphics than runescape just not the same value but it has greater fighting. and maplestory is a game that looks pretty good, has good fighting, and is probably the best to play with friends.(it may not look as intense, but it is harder than it seems)

Sherwood Dungeon is a nice one many monsters and an endless dungeon with increasing difficulty... or Runescape, which is free and endless or you can pay $5.95 a month for tons of extra features and areas. It also has a new high detail mode but your graphics card needs to be at least 64mb.
Guild wars, 29.99 to but 100 percent free to play, Very good grapichs, gamplay very similar to World of Warcraft, small update downloads, 4 expansions can also be purchesed, you and your friends can even form your own guilds, and recruit new members or just play as a group
Runescape is a big one. It has action and decent graphics and its mostly free. Yohoho Puzzle pirates is another good one. It is lots of puzzles so I dont know if youd like that one too much, I think its fun though... If you deccide to play Runescape, I can help you, my username is Dontano.
