Global Mu is really fun, even more so if you use a private server (xtremetop100.com) Wow is free if you go to their website, download the trial, then follow instructions provided by a private server (xtremetop100.com, also). If you use a private server, it's free. Those are the two best online games for free, but you can alos try guild wars, though I've never played it, it costs money.
Diablo II is a game you have to buy, but it's what Mu online ripped off, if you'd like to try the original.

There is this game called Sherwood. Google it and press the link that says MMORPG. Its quite similar to runescape. I don't play it, but my cousins do and they love it.
