Because there is more money to be made in a MMORPG than in a single player game.
And honestly, TOR is a sequel of sorts to KoTOR 2. ANd look at the history..KoTOR comes out and a few years later, KoTOR 2, does 2 take place immediately after 1? no, it's new characters and new baddies and you only gets hints of what happened to Darth Reven. You are now the Jedi Exile...and at the end you dissapear. Same with the new game, you get hints of what hapened before, but those previous events shape the new game.Why is bioware and lucasarts ignoring the fate of Darth Revan and the Jedi Exile with the new MMORPG?
Wasn't there the rumor that they were making a KOTOR3 as well?
I can't remember where I read this so it's probably crap, but I seem to remember them saying that there would be closure on the story. So it could just mean books and scrolls in the MMORPG too.
