What are the benefits of being a "officer" rank member in a mmorpg guild?

Like what would be good about being a officer in a mmorpg guild (like swtor)? Why should I do it?What are the benefits of being a "officer" rank member in a mmorpg guild?
It's not that great. It means you are part of the organising, decision making, planning %26amp; policing group. So you are part of the "cool" group who decides what everyone else should or shouldn't be doing. It also means you can see what the other officers talk about in the officer-only chat.

Things like if all members should pay money into the group bank to buy guild things. What time you will be getting together to do group activities and if someone should get kicked out of the group.

It is usually a lot of drama and obligation without much reward. It's good to have a friend who is an officer.. just so you can keep track on how the guild is going and know what the leaders are talking about.. but it really really sucks being that person.

The other officers are usually people that feel like they are more important because they are officers.. it can be irritating hearing how they talk about other people behind their back.
