there were mud's multi user dungeons but which one was the first i have no idea never winter nights ( not the crap bioware game ) was an AOL only online rpg which garnerd some succes and quite some users its that game the more wel known bioware title is based on

The first one I ever played was way back in the early 90's. It was just called MUD (Which stands for multi user dungeon) It was also completely text based, but it was great!



To move round you had to enter commands like n to go north etc. Or Get knife... Really good fun for back then!.
